Frequently asked questions
Common questions about programs, donations, eligibility, and how we operate. Don’t see yours? Contact us.
Is my donation tax deductible?
Yes. The Service Paw Project, INC is a registered 501(c)(3) public charity (EIN 39-2382347). Donations are tax-deductible to the fullest extent allowed by law. Your emailed receipt includes the language your tax preparer needs.
How are donations used?
The Service Paw Project launched in 2026. Our funding model is straightforward: the majority of every dollar goes directly to programs — veterinary care, nutrition, and handler community grants — and we publish a detailed financial breakdown in our annual report. Our most recent figures will be linked from this page once they’re published.
Can I dedicate a donation to a specific dog or handler?
Not yet through the website, but we’re building toward it. In the meantime, send us the dedication through our contact page and we’ll note it on your donor record. As our donor portal expands, you’ll be able to give in honor or memory of a specific service dog or handler directly through the site.
How do I cancel or update a recurring donation?
Manage it yourself in your donor portal — pause, change the amount, update your card, or cancel. No password needed; we’ll email you a sign-in link. Or send us a message and we’ll handle it on your behalf, usually the same day.
Do you accept donations other than money?
Right now we accept monetary donations only. As we grow, we plan to accept stock, donor-advised fund (DAF) gifts, and in-kind veterinary supplies. If you have something specific in mind, reach out through our contact page — we’d rather have the conversation than miss the gift.
Who do I contact with a question?
Use our contact page. We aim to respond within two business days. For program-specific questions, please mention which program in your message so we can route it to the right person.
